By downloading or using StepShield Pro ("the App"), these terms will automatically apply to you — you should make sure therefore that you read them carefully before using the App.

1. The Service

StepShield Pro is a self-discipline tool designed to help you control screen time by locking specific apps until you meet chosen challenges. These challenges include:

• Physical Goals: Reaching a predefined number of steps (measured via device sensors or Health Connect).
• Mental Challenges: Successfully completing quizzes or educational tasks.
• Time-Based Limits: Adhering to daily usage budgets (limits) or waiting through cooldown periods before accessing an app.

2. User Responsibilities

• Security Credentials: You are solely responsible for remembering the PIN or sequence you set for security challenges. We cannot recover a forgotten PIN for you.
• Configuration: You are responsible for ensuring that blocking system settings or critical communication apps does not interfere with your ability to use your device in emergencies.
• Uninstall Protection: If you enable "Prevent Uninstall" (Device Administrator permissions), you acknowledge that this makes removing the App more difficult by design, requiring extra security steps.

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to attempt to circumvent, disable, or hack the App's locking mechanisms through unauthorized software, scripts, or system modifications. The App is intended for personal use and self-discipline only.

4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

StepShield Pro is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will always be 100% effective in blocking all circumvention methods provided by the Android OS.

• We are not liable for any loss of productivity, missed communications, or inability to access your device's features resulting from the App's intended functionality or user-configured locks.
• We are not responsible for any impact the App may have on your device's battery life or performance due to background monitoring.

6. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms of Use.
